New “adventure “ gluten free and dairy free

A visit from my daughter and two grandchildren came with a new challenge.  The granddaughter is finding life much more pleasant on a gluten free AND a dairy free diet.!

I have learned a lot in just a few days!

#1. This stuff is expensive!!

#2. It is difficult to find mainly because I don’t know where it is shelved!

#3. Certain stores only carry certain things, I had to run around.

We are at the end of day two and things are going better than I thought they would. We even baked some banana bread with almond flour and plant based butter. I also made rice crispy bars… only change needed there was plant based butter. Both were a hit!

One fail was the air fryer chicken.  I had chicken strips and chicken wings and both were delicious but both were breaded. She valiantly scraped off the coating!

As the need for this type of food grows so does the quality.  Her uncle bought her some cookies- they were not quite edible. I found gluten and dairy free Oreos (a new product) and they were declared delicious!

We did not want to neglect the grandson, so I went out of my way to buy A2 milk and then ran out to Target for his favorite chips- Good chips- in a can like Pringles.  I don’t know who makes but only Target sells them!

Butter, milk, cheese, and bread are the main issues and we have that covered! She won’t starve!

Perfect evening with dinner on the deck.
