and now it's the 24th

time is fleeting  (passing swiftly)...they say I suppose it's true. Where did the last week go?  I have no clue. I suppose if you fill all your waking hours with activity they soon pass swiftly...so swiftly it's hard to remember what happens from one day to the next It was a full week that's for sure. So, here I sit on Thursday evening wondering what filled all the time since last Thursday evening. Certainly there were -grandchildren  -work at Toppers -volunteering at New2You But there was time to watch Jeopardy and even Wheel of Fortune, and time to watch the snow fall, and time to eat, sleep and drink! It was a week full of fullness! and that's a good thing!

Friday

I wonder what today will bring?  I hope it will be a good day considering it started at 4:30 AM.

Thursday

It was day filled with Asher and later Ava.   Asher woke up with a barking cough so he got to stay home from daycare. A sick 2 year-old is a challenge especially because he can't tell you why he is miserable and he HATES taking medicine.  We finally decided he needed some cough medicine and some ibuprofen and the two of us got him to swallow enough. We would have taken a video if it weren't for the fact that a fighting Asher required all four adult hands to accomplish this seemingly simple task.  The amazing thing was that the stuff made him feel better in about 5 minutes.  After that he had a pleasant day.  (I had a breakfast outing planned with two friends. While it was great catching up, the food was not great. We'll not go back there.)  Meanwhile Arie watched Asher.  He decided he was hungry and wolfed down 4 sauce pouches! They come in all sorts of fruit and yogurt and veggie combinations now! He went down at noon for a nap...

and it's Wednesday

Asher kept me busy on Monday and Tuesday. Poor little guy did not feel well on Tuesday.  He hates ibuprofen but about 30 minutes after you force it down he's like a new person. It happened on both days. He's still not feeling great but he's with Julie on Wednesdays. Today I played around with pictures. Sarah and Nathania along with Ava did a wall at Nathan's house so I was shamed (or was it motivated?) to work on mine. We went and bought frames at the thrift stores. This table of pictures got updated   This frame was full of Sarah and Andy"s engagement pictures. Sarah , Andy and June many years later. This the 'new' wall. I just need to decide where to place the pictures!

Sunday

After a long, long while of grey cloudy, cold days the sun is out and brightening up our world! I still have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the sunshine.  It gladdens my soul but upsets the dutch-clean part of me because all the windows are dirty and the dust shows up.  Trips to Alaska.   I am going to help Sarah and Andy in April when the new baby comes. Her c-section is scheduled for the 23rd of April. Arie will most likely come too. In August, while Arie is in Rome for the SBL conference, I will go to Alaska again with Ava.  Nathania and some cousins are hiking the Chilkoot trail.  All the grandchildren except Asher will be together! I'm so looking forward to that. The  Chilkoot Trail  is a 33-mile (53 km) trail through the  Coast Mountains  that leads from  Dyea, Alaska , in the  United States , to  Bennett, British Columbia , in  Canada . It was a major access route from the coast to...

Saturday

What a day this was. I cleaned up the house a bit and then decided to go to New2You to drop off some of the clothes that no longer fit June. I had them washed and folded in a bag which I kept moving. It was time to get them out of here! I then stopped at Toppers two with one goal and only one.  I think I got there at 12:30 or so to check an outlet.  The neon OPEN sign was not working and I wanted to see why.  One of the drivers got up to the outlet and pushed in the plug and VOILA ..it worked. One problem solved. The day manager was in a panic because he had an order for $130 and could I please help.  I helped and we got the order out and delivered.  And then I stayed. and stayed and stayed.  I worked until 10:30 PM. They were so behind and the morning crew had not done enough prep. That was fine! I like keeping busy like that. But the SHTF  really during dinner.  The line cook decided to quit! such a baby! We called Nathan in because we had s...

Friday

It's been a super busy day!  I slept well...surprise, surprise. I took ambien last night!  I only take 1/2 a tablet and that seems to do the trick! It does make it a bit hard to get going in the morning but I think that's a small price to pay.  It's a very controversial medication.  My MD does not like to prescribe it because she says the side effects can be weird and it can be addictive. One gal told me that she got up during the night (and her husband watched her) and cooked a turkey dinner.  She did not remember doing it.  I have another friend who takes 1/2 a tablet EVERY night!  I don't think I do anything weird and I only take it once in a blue moon. I'm okay! I cleaned up the house, went to Toppers, Sam's Club and the other Toppers, and then did a three hour volunteer stint at New2You the thrift store for the GRCS. It was super busy!  We are going to Bonefish Grill for dinner. Here's what I can't figure out.  New2You had ...

Thursday

It's 3:00 AM Thursday morning.  I'm still cold! I went to bed at 10:30 last night and woke up at 1:45.  I have a 2 and 1/2 hr dentist appointment this morning...maybe that's why.  Does that sort of thing effect your body temperature?  I doubt it but then who knows? Who knows anything these days? I think I'll go back to bed. haha

Wednesday

It was a cold, cold day...one of those days in which the weather and happenings matched. Nothing felt warm yesterday! The trouble is I don't know why!  Perhaps I just need to go south for the winter.

All things must come to an end

Today was the end of a few things The last of the kids and grand-kids left today...it was so much fun seeing them all...the house is awfully quiet! The last of the Christmas decorations are put away...it took me 3 hours but it's all put away today! The last of all the pre-Christmas baking is gone...no more baking for a LONG time! (diet??) maybe lol The last of the green grass is supposed to be gone by morning! They say we'll get snow tonight! The last of the leftovers were eaten today...at least most of it! The last load of laundry is in the washer. The last day of 2018 was a a week ago. We celebrated by being all together! It was good! It was a good year and a not so good year! Here's praying that 2019 will be a good one!
