It's Michigan!!!

Back to normal...I think!
but what is normal these days?
The last four days have been lovely and mild and it has rained...a lot! We needed the rain.
I was able to do a fair amount of work in the yard in spite of the rain (or perhaps because of it ) It is so much easier to pull weeds out of a wet bed.
So I go around the yard- flowerbed by flowerbed and I think I see the end...at least of the major weeding. I usually start with the beds I have already done and pluck out random weeds...there are always more.

The hosta garden is on its way!
I battled a huge patch of Joe Pie Weed this morning and replaced it with this golden cedar.

I have to admit I have one bed that I always do last...every year! and I don't know why. (ha ha) but it's a mess!!
A friend offered to come help me tackle it...when she has time! So that is like hiring someone to clean your house... you can't resist cleaning it before she/he comes! I have been slowly tackling the mess!
This morning I did some transplanting and, believe it or not, I actually found myself tossing out plants. These are pretty substantial parts of my perennials that are getting too big or patches of ground-cover that have spread too far. They would make great plants in someone else's yard...oh well!
So here is what is blooming in the yard!

...almost!

Clematis - big beautiful white flowers!

Bleeding hearts (dicentra)

Dicentra Luxuriant - ever-blooming bleeding heart

Forget-me-nots

Cowslip Primrose.

Solomon's Seal (polygonatun)

Camassia- it is apparently a native plant from southern BC but I don't remember ever seeing it when I lived there.

Brunnera

Rhododendron ...a gift from a friend many years ago! She chose it because of its name -
Olga Mezitt

A very recent gift from a friend's yard. Veronica
She says:Veronica gentianoides 'Barbara Sherwood'
Just call it Barbara!
Veronica Barbara

and there's more
Dwarf purple iris
they are the only early blooming iris I have.

Lilac
Lamium

Lamium also called Spotted dead nettle

Ajuga

Lamium Aureum

Dicentra : White
I have been wanting a white bleeding heart for a few years and I found this in the yard this morning. I bought it last year and forgot...

A Tulip?? I'm not sure- three of these little guys sprouted this year.

Grape hyacinth...very abundant this year.

White lamium

Lungwort
 It had pink flowers.
Oh, the reason I'm back inside?? It's too cold out! and there is a slight chance of frost tonight! Like I said...it's back to normal around here!
