Labor Day 2025
Even though it’s been more than 10 years since I retired from teaching, Labor Day had always and still does mark the transition from summer to fall.
Today was that kind of day. I baked zucchini bread from fresh zucchinis - a gift from the neighbor.
I folded and put away laundry. I changed the sheets on our bed. I sorted through my closet and now have a bag of pants, mostly capris, to donate. I trimmed back lots of plants in the backyard. I watered drooping plants because I did not realize that it was so dry out there. I read the book club book every time I needed a break. ( I’m on p 335 of 503) .
Dinner was a salad loaded with end of the summer produce especially the tomatoes.
Pork tenderloin on the grill -turned out exceptionally juicy and tender!
Summer is not over even though it feels that way. Evening temperatures have been delightfully cool but it still was 80° today.
