Just keeping track
What have you done for fun of late?
As I age (gracefully, of course) I find that what I have done is not so important anymore. Looking forward is more fun. That being said, it does make me want to keep track of what I have done so that I don't forget.
One day I cleaned up the yard...all empty pots, buckets, cuttings, tools, hoses, sprays, netting! There was a lot! It was rewarding to see everything so neat and tidy.
I mowed the lawn and not for fun! Company was coming and the hubby was out of commission! It had to be the hottest day of the summer!! It was a nasty job and I now see why he doesn't really like to do it! It took me a least an hour to recover! It was rewarding to see everything so neat and tidy.
I cleaned the house even though our get-together was outdoors. I was sure people would come inside for food prep or the WC; I was right! Even with the AC running on that hot day, this was a big hot job. The best thing is that all the miscellaneous piles of mail and books etc are put away in their own spots. It took me a long while to recover! It was rewarding to see everything so neat and tidy.
I had a large bowl of fresh zucchini that I needed to grate or toss...I don't toss things too easily. I grated the zucchini in the morning and baked at night. I had to go to New2You in the afternoon. So one cookie recipe gave 3 dozen zucchini oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, one zucchini bread recipe gave me 3 large loaves and another recipe
doubled gave me 5 small loaves, 18 muffins and an 8x8 bread/cake. The freezer is full. As things baked, I recovered (I watched Death in Paradise). Everything fit in the dishwasher so clean up went quickly. It was rewarding to see everything so neat and tidy especially knowing the freezer was full.
