SOCIAL - DISTANCING!
The president is saying that this is a time of war - not just a national state of war but also global.
We are trying to stay home as much as possible. Given that almost everything has shut down that is fairly easy. The stores are open and restocked after the insane surge of hoarding last week. (I had and still have enough toilet paper). I have been to the grocery store 2x this week with Ava.
Many people that I follow on Facebook are doing what I am doing... projects, long on hold. are now on their to-do lists.
I am finally painting the insides of our kitchen cabinets. It is not easy- which is probably why that task was on hold for such a long time.
This is day 4. I do one cupboard per day. So far -two upper and one lower. While I REALLY like the finished product , I really HATE the process.!!
Because I found doing the lower ones much more difficult than the uppers, I am now planning on doing them first....all of them! That should take me well into next week. Stay tuned!
One thing leads to another. Yesterday I needed a screwdriver and a pair of pliers but the tool bag was so disorganized.
Step one-change and pick up Ava
Step two- stop at the store
Step three- crumble cakes and mix with frosting
Step four - form into balls and place in freezer
Step five- back to the store
Step six- retrieve balls from freezer and place in fridge
Step seven- microwave the candy melts after agonizing what to do that in lol
Step eight- organize (sticks , candy coating, poke the right size holes in the styrofoam after searching the entire house for it)
Step nine- dip stick in candy coating, poke in cake ball and dip. This took much longer than we anticipated!
Step ten- place on styrofoam board.
Step eleven - eat and enjoy a few.
Step twelve - clean up (argue with Ava lol)
Step twelve- put all the remaining balls in tupperware to save for the next crazy day!
A friend asked WHY did I make so many? First I had no idea that each cake would make 48 balls. Second I had most of these ingredients in the house and I have been wanting to do this for quite some time.
After all that I brought her home and collapsed on the couch haha !!
Later I gave the cupboard a quick second coat!
One of the joys of social distancing is doing projects, right?

I took before and after pictures of all the cabinets so far but they all look the same.

| This came out. It would not be a big deal except for the fact that the paint has to dry for at least 24 hrs. |

| This shelf was covered with a clear sheet of plastic and held in place with staples. The ones way in the back were rather stubborn. |

Since the schools are closed, Ava came over and we made cake pops! The finished project was pretty and delicious but a lot more work than we thought it would be.
