CORONA VIRUS CO-VID 19 3/26/2020
CORONA
-a crown
-a beer
- a virus
Oh, the many many things we have learned this past week. While I'd surely love a crown and a beer, I am stuck with the reality of the corona virus called co-vid 19.
And it is a very odd and truly new reality...not just for me but for the entire world. Countless people are sick and countless have died. This virus is highly contagious and spreads before a person even shows signs of being ill.
So borders are closed as much as they can be...
All non-essential businesses have been ordered to close.
Social distancing is now the norm.
Social gatherings of every kind including schools and churches are closed.
It's a dark day for many because when businesses close so does your income.
Yet there is hope. The disease seems to slowing in the countries where it first hit -fewer deaths, fewer new cases but for those on the forefront in our country the battle is yet to come. NYC is a very scary place to be right now.
Yet there is hope. I want to believe that because of all the work that has been done, people will be spared, the virus will slow.
Hope is like a corona as well as this nasty bug.
I see it like the sun's corona - visible only during a total solar eclipse, when it is seen as an irregularly shaped pearly glow surrounding the darkened disk of the moon. There is light surrounding the darkness.
It will pass soon I hope.
