ONE DAY SO MUCH THE SAME AS THE LAST

MARCH 30, 2020 Corona virus day 11---correction day 14 Sheltering in place The last time I wrote it was Friday. 4 days have passed. Today is Monday. I'm bored and I don't know why! Nothing has changed that much, has it? I sleep, get up, have coffee with my husband and take my meds ...just like before. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner... just like before. I watch TV, read books, play games on the computer.... just like before. I talk and text on my phone... just like before. I face-time with the grands ... just like before. I am doing projects (sewing medical masks and painting cabinets)... just like before. I do laundry, make the beds, clean the house and make to-do lists... just like before. BUT I often have to ask myself what day it is and then I check the calendar  to double check! Life has changed, hasn't it? The USA has had many, many deaths due to the corona co-vid 19. Many people have tested positive and are not ill... Many are ill and recoveri...

CORONA VIRUS CO-VID 19 3/26/2020

CORONA   -a crown   -a beer - a virus Oh, the many many things we have learned this past week.  While I'd surely love a crown and a beer, I am stuck with the reality of the corona virus called co-vid 19. And it is a very odd and truly new reality...not just for me but for the entire world. Countless people are sick and countless have died.  This virus is highly contagious and spreads before a person even shows signs of being ill.  So borders are closed as much as they can be...  All non-essential businesses have been ordered to close. Social distancing is now the norm. Social gatherings of every kind including schools and churches are closed. It's a dark day for many because when businesses close so does your income. Yet there is hope. The disease seems to slowing in the countries where it first hit -fewer deaths, fewer new cases but for those on the forefront in our country the battle is yet to come.  NYC is a v ery scary p...

Where does the time go?? March 19,2020

Today...it is Thursday  and It's 11:15 ...and I just realized that my blog posts do not have a date on them.  I need to remedy that. I was up at 3:45 etc back to bed etc I got up at 9:30 and it had snowed  From 9:30 to 11:15 What did I do during that time? Here's a list--mostly just for me. Re-filled the cupboard I painted yesterday. Put stuff I don't want in a box for New2You Emptied the one that I am doing today. Put away the tool bag and various other things. Had breakfast Got dressed Started a load of laundry Took all the bath mats up from downstairs and placed them where they belong.  Washed out the cupboard While it was drying , I did a new blog post and started this one. {pictures take a long time because I can only post from this computer} Why the list?  because my days often slip away from me.  It's hard to remember how easily a day gets filled up and hard to remember that while no major things were accomplished the day was still F...

SOCIAL - DISTANCING!

The president is saying that this is a time of war - not just a national state of war but also global. We are trying to stay home as much as possible. Given that almost everything has shut down that is fairly easy.  The stores are open and restocked after the insane surge of hoarding last week. (I had and still have enough toilet paper). I have been to the grocery store 2x this week with Ava.  Many people that I follow on Facebook are doing what I am doing... projects, long on hold. are now on their to-do lists. I am finally painting the insides of our kitchen cabinets. It is not easy- which is probably why that task was on hold for such a long time.  This is day 4.  I do one cupboard per day. So far -two upper and one lower. While I REALLY like the finished product , I really HATE the process.!! Because I found doing the lower ones much more difficult than the uppers, I am now planning on doing them first....all of them!  That should take me well into...

Money in the bank...at least for a day!

We signed a LOT of papers this morning and the house is sold!! Just posting pictures to remember it and get them off my phone!!

Checking the forecast???

Well...it was supposed to be sunny all week and quite warm but it only lasted a day.  Boo hoo! It has been extremely cloud and and boring and depressing and ...the list goes on.  I read an entire novel on Saturday and another on Sunday.  The Dearly Beloved (Arie read it too) and it still doesn't sit well with me. The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepples  was a quick light read and in many ways much satisfying than the first. Perhaps because the issues were not quite so complex. Yesterday I went walking in the mall and then out for breakfast. I also helped out at New2You from 1-4.  I met some interesting people. Today everything has been going in slow motion although I did do a few things. Have you ever saved a recipe because it looked interesting etc.  This was one for Cranberry Orange Muffins with only 103 calories per.  The intriguing thing for me was that you could dump all in a blender etc...that part didn't work. I did get them into the ove...
