Thursday
It was day filled with Asher and later Ava.
Asher woke up with a barking cough so he got to stay home from daycare. A sick 2 year-old is a challenge especially because he can't tell you why he is miserable and he HATES taking medicine. We finally decided he needed some cough medicine and some ibuprofen and the two of us got him to swallow enough. We would have taken a video if it weren't for the fact that a fighting Asher required all four adult hands to accomplish this seemingly simple task. The amazing thing was that the stuff made him feel better in about 5 minutes. After that he had a pleasant day.
(I had a breakfast outing planned with two friends. While it was great catching up, the food was not great. We'll not go back there.)
Meanwhile Arie watched Asher. He decided he was hungry and wolfed down 4 sauce pouches! They come in all sorts of fruit and yogurt and veggie combinations now!
He went down at noon for a nap...protesting all the way. It took him about a minute to give up and slept for 2 and 1/2 hrs.
I made a quick run to the middle school to pick up Ava. She was hungry too. Consumed 2 slices of bread with sprinkles and a while later a grilled cheese sandwich.
Asher did many puzzles today- the cute thing was that he brought them from his room one by one as we did them. In the end we had a stack of 13 wooden puzzles on the kitchen table.
He also had books read to him- the same ones multiple times.
It was fun to see the two interact- Ava is 10 and Asher is 2.
Ava helped me put the pictures on the wall.
I went to New2You at 5:15 instead of 4:00. Arie had to go to a meeting and Nathan had to work until 5:00. I picked up two more black frame for the wall!
I go there to take a break from all the chaos at the house.
Ironically, I got back home at 7:20 and the house was quiet! There was no one there. It felt so strange!
I cleaned up, put away papers and toys and dishes and filled and ran the dishwasher, swept the kitchen and even put a tablecloth on the kitchen table.
I made myself some tea and put my feet up and enjoyed the quiet!
