It’s spring...well almost.

The daffodils are about 4 inches high! The tulips are not far behind!  It’s been very dry and today was sunny!
Spring rains are on the way...they say next week!
I love this time of year! There’s so much promise in the air.
R and I made our first trip to the city yard waste dump...I don’t think we’ve ever gone on opening day!  The dump even looked new and clean.  They had cleared all of last year’s debris to other parts of the dump and it almost looked beautiful.  Lots of promise.
The car was filled to the brim with bags and bags of branches and leaves that had wintered in our yards. After that it deserved to be liberated from all its winter dirt and we took it to the “ghetto” car wash or as R calls it “my car wash”. (She insisted on doing the labor.  It’s an art to get it all washed and rinsed in the allotted time). It’s a self serve car wash and she goes there a lot. Best deal in town for $2.00.  The  car now looks newish too.
Ava was here after school and helped me fill a bag with dried stems of hostas and sedum!  Inspired by the growing tulips, daffodils, hostas and day lilies, I decided they deserved to be protected.  I mixed up two gallons of liquid fence. My hands still smell bad even after a shower. The clothes and jacket are in the washer. Not so much fun but the yard has been given it’s first round of protection. I’m hoping it will deter the hungry bunnies. Next will be some milorgonite .  Last year the forsythia in the front yard did not bloom. The deer seem to think it’s a delicacy. Perhaps they will also be deterred.
It’s going to be a good spring!,
