Hawthorns
I have two cute flowering trees in the back east corner of the yard called Washington Hawthorns. They blossom in the spring and so provide some early relief to the drab winter-awakening landscape.
This year I decided they needed a good trim. Since I had someone to help, we cut off a substantial amount of branches. I do like to keep them on the shorter side. They look good and I like the new more compact shape.
They are called hawthorns for a very good reason! These trees have the most vicious thorns ever. Long and sharp thorns in abundance up and down EVERY branch and twig.
I cut up all the branches, loaded them into the car and brought them to the dump.
I have scars to prove it.
