STICKS!!

STICKS!! It's that time of year...from our trees and those of the neighbourhood...so many sticks in the yard.  I am not a fan! The first trip to waste dump.

7 months old...already

March madness

Image
March madness  ...and what a month it has been! Good things.   I went to Brampton for 3 days.  Tante Tini is doing really well.  Her huge dinner-plate sized bed sore is healed over.  Although, it is still painful, tender, and great care needs to be taken to keep it that way. Either the care at Holland Christian Homes in Brampton is excellent or she rallied because she is "home"... probably both. Her friends come, her pastor also. One thing is certain...she is no longer at death's door.  In November the doctor suggested that we move up her 90th birthday celebration because he did not think she would last that long. She still talks about that day. I went to Anchorage Alaska for 8 days.  It was so good to be with the girls, Andy and the grandkids. The weather was phenomenal! Cold, crisp, and most of all SUNNY! Everyday!   We went sledding.   It is quite difficult to get down on the ground for this old lady. Compound that with many laye...

Such a dilemma...

What do you do when your regular commitments are in conflict with other things that pop up in your life?? I have a committee meeting to run (plan etc) every second Monday and a thrift store shift every Wednesday.  When I started both of these things I felt that it was good and doable etc. Well now...maybe not.  Last week I had to bow out of both because of meetings in Chicago. Replacements/substitutes were found for both. That's good, right? Except I don't feel good about having to do that.  Next week, I head to Anchorage for 8 days and I will need to do the same thing. So I canceled the meeting and will tell the manager flat out that I can't make it. I don't feel good about that either.  So, what's the solution? Quit?   I don't feel good about that either.

Music to my ears

My friend and I went to hear the GR symphony tonight...they are outstanding! They had a marvellous program...I love Mussorgsky. There was also a fabulous solo violinist and Samuel Barber's Adagio! I think it's good for us to hear such moving music.  R wasn't sure if the effect lasted more than a day or two.  I think it feeds our soul.

On the road again

Just booked my flight ($31 plus miles)  ...heading to Anchorage in 10 days!  Can't wait to see everyone (except Lucy who will be left with a dog sitter in TX)
