The Clematis I have a clematis growing in my yard. I bought it years ago and it did not bloom where it was planted.  A few years ago, I moved it to the front yard under the Rose of Sharon. I had read that they make a great climbing wall (tree) for clematis.especially since the clematis blooms much earlier than the Rose of Sharon.  Well, it worked...very well indeed. It had found a permanent home.  But alas the Rose of Sharon has died.  For this year it will be okay but I guess replacing it or moving the Clematis will be a priority project.

It's Michigan!!!

Back to normal...I think! bu t what is normal these days? The last four days have been lovely and mild and it has rained...a lot! We needed the rain. I was able to do a fair amount of work in the yard in spite of the rain (or perhaps because of it ) It is so much easier to pull weeds out of a wet bed.  So I go around the yard- flowerbed by flowerbed and I think I see the end...at least of the major weeding. I usually start with the beds I have already done and pluck out random weeds...there are always more.  The hosta garden is on its way! I battled a huge patch of Joe Pie Weed this morning and replaced it with this golden cedar.  I have to admit I have one bed that I always do last...every year! and I don't know why. (ha ha) but it's a mess!! A friend offered to come help me tackle it...when she has time! So that is like hiring someone to clean your house... you can't resist cleaning it before she/he comes! I have been slowly tackling the mess!  T...
