Tis the season… almost!

It’s beginning to look like Christmas

After a few weeks off-- no Wednesday lunch since mid November- we went to a local favorite- The Old Goat.  It has become very popular and we had a 25 minutes wait. Lovely old church pews made it comfortable.
We opted to wait just a few more minutes to get a normal table versus a high-top.
The menu offered some lovely lunch combos- soup, salad, ½ sandwich, fries.
Lobster bisque and ½ a fancy grilled cheese sandwich was my choice. There was a roasted tomato jam on the sandwich that made it so good!

R opted for a cup of tomato saffron soup with a whole Emily Rueben. She wanted to take ½ to Erica.

We were both very happy with our choices!

We talked for a long while so at the end, dessert tempted us. Only 4 choices and all sounded equally tempting.
R chose the weekly version of the crème Brule- cranberry.  The cranberry was mixed into the custard which did not enhance the look nor the flavor. A candied cranberry topping might have been better.

I ordered the candied-bacon blonde brownie with vanilla ice cream..  It sounded so intriguing... who puts bacon on a brownie?

It was delicious!

It was a cold, wintery day and the lunch was perfect!

PS (of course)
We went to Ludemas to get some poinsettias.  The entire scene inside was an ocean of red with some touches of pink, white and glitter.  Magical!

Variegated leaves on this one! How do they do that?

This one was called “mouse”.  Cute ears!

Christmas is coming!
