It’s the first day of 2025!
What a year it has been!!… I think! Hahahaha!
What happened this year?
Since I wasn't sure, I just went through all my google photos for reminders!
We started the year visiting our grandchildren and their parents in Anchorage, Alaska!
( Lots of fun: fashion show, snowzilla, dinosaur museum, pedicures, dinner out with everyone)
Lots of snow in GR
A trip Puerto Vallarta courtesy of Arie's brother. Vidanta resorts are very impressive!
February
New numbers board for the house made by Aaron.
Lots of basketball games for Ava!
March
Weekly Wednesday lunch with Rose. We finally went for Vietnamese Pho! Delicious!
April
Ava is 16!!
Spring came early and pots went out and plants were popping up!
I went to get free goat and pony fertilizer.
Arie turned 78.
May
I fell and suffered greatly for three months!
Celia graduated from preschool. We got some classic pictures and a video of “This is the Butterfly Dance”!
June
A big wind storm came through and there was a ton of damage to deal with at the Fountain house!
July
First Trump assassination attempt! So much blood but lots of “fight” left!
August
Andy came to visit with June and Celia. ( zoo, baking, parks, swimming).
Asher’s birthday
September
Arie and I took a trip to Tampa since we had some credit with Allegiant that needed to be used or forfeited . We were there for a hurricane… it made us doubly glad we were staying at an Airbnb rather than a hotel because everything was shut down for two entire days!!
October
Fall color tour trip to Traverse City! Awesome colors!
November
National election- Trump and the Republicans won handily! Let’s hope they don’t screw it up!
Thanksgiving week in Phoenix with Henry & Blandina from Winnipeg, and John & Sally from Edmonton. It was a very relaxing week!
December
Weather was a big deal: white and green periods!
I find that when you get older, it actually is more difficult to remember things- even important things. So then, what are important things? I also wonder if what I think important is the same for those around me? Probably not! Does it matter? Probably not!
Perhaps importance is simply a personal reaction? … but that seems a bit cynical!
The national/federal election was decisive but the left will continue reeling for the next 4 years.
Our church/denomination went through some difficult times this year as it made some important decisions concerning human sexuality. The report was divisive and sadly, we will be feeling and seeing the results of this for the next few years.
The pastor of our local church ended the year with a bang by resigning unexpectantly! That will leave our congregation reeling as well.
Our oldest daughter and grandchildren have suffered a personal loss today that will leave them reeling- Uppa (grandfather) Pat passed away this morning.
On a bright "personal" note--- Sarah and the granddaughters will be coming for a short visit next week! It matters! It's important!
