LIBERATION OF THE NETHERLANDS

May 5th, 1945
The Canadians and the Dutch celebrate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands at the end of WWII.
Every year in the Netherlands there are many different ways to celebrate and this year is no exception BUT  the celebration will be very different because of the Corona virus.
Check out this link to see how they have adapted ---

THE TIES BETWEEN TWO NATIONS: This coin pays tribute to the Canadian Army and to the people of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is a celebration of the special friendship between our two nations and the close
ties forged in war.

In the Netherlands, my husband, along with all school-aged kids, was given this cup to commemorate the 10th anniversary of V day!
