Whirlwind!
It felt like a whirlwind.
What a week it was!
We headed out to Grimsby for a funeral of a dear friend. We left Monday and got there on time for the visitation. Tuesday morning was the interment and the funeral. We were on the road again by 1:00 pm. Home by 8:30.
What to pack??
Wednesday morning we had a 5:30 to Seattle.
We were on the road with Nathania and the kids by 11:00 AM Seattle time.
We got as far as Williams Lake. Google found us an hotel with a pool. The kids did great. We arrived in Smithers around 4:30 the next day. Joe and Sadie hosted all of us...such dear people. Friday we visited Louise and Mack and visited with a ton of people -my nephew Rick and Donna from Vancouver Island, Art (my younger brother) and Mary, Darryl and four kids (Michael, Ryan, Lauren, Aiden). I heard that more people came to visit after we left. I think Louise needed a week to recover!
6 of us were there.
Saturday -farmers market, dropped Nathania and kids off at Tyhee Lake (getting there was an adventure) and then off to visit Paula and Bert. Getting there was another adventure.
I could write a book about how people in the country (versus city) give directions. The best example was: turn right at the big intersection with the red food truck. I asked...it'll still be there , right? of course!
So on we drove looking for a red food truck at an intersection. We found a road...no food truck. Looking and looking we finally spotted the red food truck about 2 city blocks to the right on the side road!! Seriously? Needless to say we got "lost" a few times!
Back to Smithers and the anniversary party. 60 years for Louise and Mack. The link to the pictures: It has to be copied and pasted

Sunday.. relaxed after church and kids played in the sprinkler and Arie napped.
Family reunion time at 4:00 ---this time we found it with no problem. Lots of great conversation and great food!
A rumor circulated (and still seems to be) that I have a tattoo.
I stopped protesting and sent this picture--
Monday on the road by 7:00 drove twelve hours and got to Hope.
Another hotel with a pool for the kids.
We were on the road by 8:30 thinking we'd have lots of time but there was a fairly long wait at the border. Got to the Seattle airport by 2:00
Plane left at 3:40.
Arrived home at midnight Michigan time.
There's something special about your own bed!
