This past week I spent a lot of time in my house. I started cleaning and sorting and discarding and it felt good.
So I decided to clean a closet per day and see if I could keep going...with the goal of going through the entire house.
So what's motivating me besides old age? Have you ever been to an "estate" sale where they have a company come in and try to sell everything?? I went to one years ago where the items in the bathroom were a bit shocking...seriously! Half a tube of Prep H, old bars of soap, half bottles of who knows...you get the picture.
I came away saying that my 'estate' sale would not be like that.
So, I guess once I got started I wanted and still want to keep going.
It is SLOW going.
Every closet seems to hold things I rarely use and so I agonize over whether or not to keep, donate or throw out. Donate is winning!
The local thrift for the Christian Schools is getting a lot of stuff tomorrow but so is the trash can.
Yesterday I came across an envelope of older pictures. There was no agonizing there but it sure was fun to grab a cup of coffee, sit by the sunny picture window and enjoy some memories.
But gazing out the window also reminded me that there will be plenty to do outside very soon.
At least my lawn does not have snow mold like a friend's yard does. According to weather prognostications I still have time to clean a few more closets.
mmm-- I wonder if I can also finally get around to the garage this year??
On another note: the weather was absolutely gorgeous at the beginning of the week and I was able to get out for a two hour walk on Monday -Paul Henry trail- and a two hour stroll around Reeds Lake on Wednesday! Both days were much warmer than usual for this time of year and I'm so happy my friend R wanted to walk with me!!
