Well, I’ve been back from
Argentina for two weeks now and Arie just got back from the
Netherlands yesterday.
He went to a conference on the Bible and Theology in
Apeldoorn and then went to Alblasserdam and spent two days with the Gort cousins.
He loves doing that because Corrie feeds him things like cooked endive and purselane (that REALLY is a vegetable)…I think that’s why he went to the conference…ha ha!
The weather in the
Netherlands is much more what Arie likes.
He is suffering from the high temperatures we are having—80 F.
When he got back he got back to a house in disarray! I had all the carpet taken out and replaced with new…everywhere except our bedroom.

That was the only room with a hardwood floor. So tomorrow one of Aaron’s friends is coming to sand the floors in all three bedrooms. They will all match that way and they really need to be done.

The problem with doing them all at once is what to do with all the furniture and things in the bedrooms. We have two beds in the living room, the front door can’t open because the front hall is packed with all kinds of things. Etc etc.

The best part of this kind of project is that it forces you to go through all your ‘stuff’. It’s amazing how easy it is to collect ‘stuff’! The thrift stores will be getting some donations and the trash will be more than our normal one bag!
On Saturday we head for Calgary, Alberta. Arie has been asked to preach at the Classis Alberta South’s anniversary celebration. The Christian Reformed Church is 150 yrs. old this year and there are special events being held all over Canada and the U.S. On Sunday night or Monday morning we are heading to Canmore to spend a few days with John and Sally Leder (Arie’s brother). That should be fun and it might even be cooler!
