While we were in Alberta the garden exploded. All the day lilies are blooming and so are the black-eyed susans, the yarrow, the hostas, the liatris, the cone flowers, etc. It's been dry this year so nothing as tall as it has been in other years but the flowers have been more abundant.

While Arie was in The Netherlands he got to witness the launching of a new dredger from the company IHC Smit. That's where several of his cousins work. to really get an idea as to the size of this thing-- double click the picture. Hans Klerk, son in law to Arie's cousin Anneke, modeling his new stylish Oakleys and showing off his new SEAT XL. Arie got a ride and thinks it's great.

Well, I’ve been back from Argentina for two weeks now and Arie just got back from the Netherlands yesterday. He went to a conference on the Bible and Theology in Apeldoorn and then went to Alblasserdam and spent two days with the Gort cousins. He loves doing that because Corrie feeds him things like cooked endive and purselane (that REALLY is a vegetable)…I think that’s why he went to the conference…ha ha! The weather in the Netherlands is much more what Arie likes. He is suffering from the high temperatures we are having—80 F. When he got back he got back to a house in disarray! I had all the carpet taken out and replaced with new…everywhere except our bedroom. That was the only room with a hardwood floor. So tomorrow one of Aaron’s friends is coming to sand the floors in all three bedrooms. They will all match that way and they really need to be done. The problem with doing them all at once is what to do with all the furniture and things in the bedrooms. We h...
