a few thoughts
Well, it’s a beautiful Saturday morning. It looks like the snow, and better yet, the ice in our driveway will be gone soon because the temps are up and it rained last night. We have suffered through a week of very low temperatures mixed with a few snowfalls and since no one felt like clearing the snow on the driveway we ended up with some very icy sections. But no worries…it will all soon be gone. The hope is that that will be it for this season. They’ve had a cold week in
This week Arie started a new quarter (versus semester) at the Seminary. The classes are large but he thinks it will be a good quarter. At Calvin we are deep into second semester and we have only one week before spring break. I take a class at
This summer is another matter. I don’t think we have ever had so many things going on. Sarah graduates from Calvin on May 19 (if you need an excuse to come and visit this would be a good one) on May 23 I leave for Argentina (I’ll get back June 20), on June 6 Nathania and Storman are coming from Alaska to visit, from June 26-July2 Arie is going to the Netherlands for a conference and three days after he comes back, Arie and I are going to Alberta for a week. It doesn’t stop there. After coming back from
In August, I plan to put up my hammock and enjoy my garden full of weeds! Ha ha! As if I could! I am trying to figure out how I can get enough things done in May so that when I come back in June it will still be manageable. Someone told me this stuff called Preen works pretty well to stop seeds from germinating. Maybe I’ll give that a try. I love a beautiful garden but it does require constant attention. Last year I hired some students to come once or twice a week and help so this year I think I’ll have to hire about six for a day in May and then again in June. It might work if I have it planned right.
In the meantime I have my job to consider! I need to grade some compositions …today!!
I love my students this semester. That makes it sound like I have students that I did not like in the past and that is not the case. It is just that the classes I have this semester seem to be a special mix of students that work well together and that is what makes them fun to teach!
Well, I better get to those compositions!
Once the snow is ALL GONE I plan to post some pictures!
Have a great day!
