Pain! It’s been a week!!

(This was written for my records... feel free not to read!)  Pain is an interesting yet inexplicable “thing”.  It is also something no one likes to hear about or read about and yet I want to write about in order not to forget. It was awful- so awful that it seems impossible to imagine that I could forget!  It started last week Saturday with a lengthy gallbladder attack - nasty but not worthy of a trip to the ER but the hubby was ready to override me!  This continued daily - I woke up feeling great but every morning I had another attack.  They were getting longer and more intense and I had decided that if I had another I was going to the ER.  So Thursday morning, after calling the doc’s office during the attack Arie drove me to Blodgett hospital. These were lengthy attacks but wouldn’t you know it?  This one was intense but was over before we got to the hospital. Crazy!  The ER experience is intense but no surprises- lots of people coming by, lots ...

Before and after

I have been busy in the yard this past week. So much better The tall ornamental grasses out front normally get burned down while there is still snow on the ground.  I did not get around to that on time this year, so Aaron helped me with a hedge trimmer.  The neighbors wanted the “straw” to line there garden paths.  Looks a lot cleaner now Look at al those weeds! Weeds al gone...2 big bags full! So then I went into rescue mode...there are 50 hosta starts in this bin! Now what should I do with them?? They will look like this and get gorgeous fragrant flowers late in the summer. There are still a few that I need to rescue...so in the meantime baskets will have to for now!

Junk in the trunk and fashion statements that had to be see to be believed!

We went to visit a" junk the trunk show" while we were in Phoenix. I had never heard of that before.  Apparently it is a western thing. We were intrigued by the name and expected a lot of garage sale type booths.  It was more like an antique show with lots of new stuff interwoven... perfect for those who decorate I the shabby chic style.  There were all kinds of fashion statements!               N                              John and Sally found some John Deere stuff for their "barn:! These PLANTERS were from a seeder!     Some ideas to take home! , I was looking for a metal yard-art pig for my yard.  I wanted this one but it was too big for  my suitcase! I bought the green one! A large arena filled with people shoppers and sellers.  Some of the sellers were from California and for them this was the first sale since this COVID...

Habits...new ones perhaps! Haha

After some lazy days and difficult nights of little sleep, I decided to try a few new things to try and motivate me to get off the couch.  It’s been 7 weeks since I broke my right arm, 5 weeks since surgery and  a few days since I received permission to wean myself from the cast. Progress has been made.  It has been 7 weeks of basic inactivity or at the very least, limited... very limited activity! So I am not that motivated to get going again. It MUST begin to happen (I'm arguing with myself here haha). So here is the plan.  I will clean ONE thing that I don’t like to do- maybe not every day but at least once a week! Talk about lack of “want”! Haha. I cleaned the exhaust fan above the stove this morning..   It does get dusty and greasy!   I will clean one room per week!  Our bedroom is dust free this morning! ( The last person up makes the bed and it was not me) It also gets dusty too fast! I will weed a different flowerbed as weather perm...
