Fort Worth TEXAS

My third trip in June...I've never had three trips in one month before in my life. Sarah and I used miles to get tickets.  She asked me to join her for a house hunting weekend in Fort Worth Texas. We met there on Wednesday...hot, 90 degrees, sunny and breezy. After living in Alaska for 6 years this might be a difficult switch. Fortunately it's only for a year. We looked at a bunch listed on Craigslist the first day and met with a realtor and saw a few more the next day. She filled out two applications and was accepted for both. She chose the large one...I think it was a good choice.

Orlando

Great weekend with Nathan , Ava and the Toppers family. Orlando is an exciting place to be ...for an eight year old! We walked and walked in the high temperatures and suffered the higher humidity. Ava scored a lot of autographs from her favorite princesses...she was thrilled to see Ariel, Elsa and Anna, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Mulan, Aladdin and Jasmine, and Sophia the 1st... She also saw Olaf and Pluto. Then Chewbacca and Kylo Ren rounded off the pictures opportunities. Splash Mountain was a hit but Thunder Mountain was too scary while Pirates of the Caribbean too Tame. The Star Wars simulator ride was great and we got to ride it twice...no lines for once. After all that, we were quite content to sit in meetings...while Ava and a few buddies swam etc. Scott Getrich gave an inspiring talk which included his personal battle with drugs and alcohol. He credits Narcotics Anonymous for their invaluable help in his recovery.

a surprise

Back home The first thing I did was take a walk around the yard. Everything looks good -some flowers are blooming and some are done. One surprise...an ugly bulb can produce beautiful flowers. The flowering fern that a friend gave to me is blooming.

A fabulous family time

We just got back from Edmonton. Sally planned a great weekend of surprise events for her husband's 65th birthday. Thursday evening was the best surprise.  John thought he was going out for dinner with his kids and was greeted by almost 150 friends and family. The next day there was a big family dinner...Sally's side of the family. Saturday there was a huge family picnic /BBQ for the Leder ' side. I wish I had taken more pictures.

Insanity!

Crazy! Hard to believe...right? After lots of elbow grease and every product we could think of. Not sure why but my phone did not pick up the color of the BLUE tub. Such a feeling of accomplishment

CraCra times 2

CRAZY??? So what is the definition? I found quite a few and I will use some red-lettering.  It's 1:20 and I can't sleep. That's crazy as in insane . I'm soooo tired and my mind won't shut down.  I feel a bit deranged --who would do what I did today (with a crazy friend...was she not in her right mind or was she wildly enthusiastic) ??   We started at 9:00 this morning and I left at 5:15.  We cleaned like crazy which means  to an extreme degree.   We didn't need the work nor the money that we will be paid.  Perhaps we did it because we are good clean people or perhaps because we are challenged by dirt and grease...and there was lots of both.   One thing I know...it should not have to ALL be done in one day. That's definitely CRAZY!
