Seven days of Gratitude

Day 4 1. A cool breeze, birds singing, bees chirping --the windows are all open and the fans are running!. Would you believe our AC went out yesterday. 2. Sleepovers with grandchildren! It'll be soon enough that they won't want or need to. 3. Good sermons that challenge you to serve God.

Seven Days of Gratitude

Day 3 1. Rain! It's raining today and I welcome it for my oh so parched flower beds! 2. The internet and cell phones. When we went to Costa Rica in 1978 we had to go downtown San José to a special phone location and place a call. Now it is so easy to stay in touch with the girls and their husbands and/or children from home or even in the car! 3. My car and my ability to drive it. My Mom never learned how to drive...not a good thing esp after my Dad died.

Seven days of gratitude

Day 2 The little things: 1. A good night's sleep that allows me to get through the entire day. 2. That first cup of coffee in the morning that puts my brain and body in drive. 3. The sunrise...the promise of another day of walking in the light. Have a great day!

seven day gratitude challenge.

A face book friend is doing a seven day gratitude challenge. It's like the ALS challenge I guess. You accept and challenge others to do the same. Might be a better focus than the ice bucket thing but I'd rather not do this on face book. So I am going to this here. If you read this, I challenge YOU to do the same. With Gratitude to God  Day 1 1. I'm thankful for my husband and children and grandchildren - they light up my life. 2. I'm thankful for this weird and wonderful country that I live in-so crazy yet so free to be crazy. 3. I'm thankful for beauty in the nature that surrounds me- green green trees and grass, flowers of all colours every season of the year, insects buzzing, birds chirping, dogs barking etc

Too much food!!

We just went to Logan's roadhouse for supper. Two meals plus two sides each for $14.99.  We are both stuffed.

Wooden flower box

Image
I have this wooden flower box that I rescued from somewhere. I wanted to refurbish it and use it on the pergola. It's been sitting around for awhile. A trip to the bigbox hardware store today inspired me again because they sell for $55.00!!! Can you believe that?? For a flower box?? CRAZY but inspiring

A short walk around the yard.

Image
I'm so surprised that there are still new flowers in the yard!! But it is time to go around with the clippers and deadhead everything!! A final day lily! Some fragrant phlox Roses! One last day lily! Turtle head plant.  Hibiscus.  Shasta daisy! One tomato led to the discovery of a few more.  An abundance of goodness.

CATS!!

The kittens are turning into CATS!! How do I catch them??? Maybe the pig angel can help !!

Monday evening

It's so humid that I am immobile even in the house.  I did go for a two mile walk this morning before it got hot.  I don't think I've had a problem like this with the heat and humidity before!! I must be getting old! Oh well...... A few pictures from the walk this morning.

Sunday morning

Image
It's much too early...wishing I could sleep  I need a cup of tea I think! Wishing my girls lived closer by.  I need to call them today.  Wishing ... I need to do something about that... Maybe not  Perhaps just let it be  Accept that that's life!! We went out and had some great food this past week.  Crab stuffed barramundi at the Bull's Head Tavern.  Peanut butter pie! With good friends !
