I just received this picture of my brothers. Aren't they a handsome bunch? From left to right Art, Rudy and Chuck. Chuck is having by=pass surgery tomorrow April 17. Please pray that all will go well.

Happy birthday to Arie

Yes, it's Arie's birthday and it was sunny today. That's two good things!

Do you know what that acronym means? Arie found a tshirt web site that had IMAO everywhere. They answer the question in their link FAQ

It snowed

I went to Wilmore, Kentucky last weekend for the NACFLA conference. Of course I cannot remember what the acronym stands for exactly but let me try: North American Christian Foreign Language Association. We have a journal and meet every year for a conference...next year it will be at Calvin College. It is a great group and it is very enjoyable to meet every year, reconnect with acquaintances and talk about issues. Given the fact that it was in Kentucky, the weather was great. The daffodils were done, the tulips almost open, the redbuds and forsythia were in full bloom and people were mowing their lawns. But here in GR it snowed and the temps went down into the 20s at night. The primroses ARE blooming!

lazy! that's me

We have had some awesome weather...but we might get snow again at the end of the week. The warmer weather makes me lazy and the colder weather makes me depressed! Yikes..I can't win. I went to a conference in Kentucky last week. It was very inspiring to be challenged by what other Christian foreign language colleges and colleagues are doing. Five of us went down in a van...next time the trip is more than 6 or 7 hours I am going by plane. The one advantage was getting home at 11:00 pm on Saturday instead of 9:00 PM on Sunday.
