old tv new TV At long last we have new furniture in the family room...it took at least three years. We think we like it. We have thirty days to decide. The love seat is coming on Tuesday and then we need a rug. We also got a new TV which I think we will mount on the wall.

laugh for the day

My daughter sent this to me...funny Lipstick in School -- Priceless!! According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next day the girls would put them back. Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night. To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and c...

Autumn in west Michigan

Image
Some of our fall colors. A couple of the university buildings where I hope we will have our new program . I can't believe it's been a month since I posted something. I went to Merida, Mexico for a business trip. I am planning a new semester program and was not getting replies to my emails so I had to go and talk to people in person. I got there Sunday afternoon , spent three days meeting with as many people as I could and came back on Thursday...exhausted. The weather in Merida was very warm! I don't know if I'll be able to survive for four months! Here the weather has been warmer than than usual. It's been great. Nathania and Storman were here for a short visit. They went on a wine tour in northern MI with some friends so we didn't see too much of them. They arrived the same night I got back from Mex so Arie only had to make one trip to the airport. Sarah had left earlier that day to visit Chelsea in Minnesota. (check out their blogs for the whole story)

It was an absolutely gorgeous day here in west Michigan. The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing and the temperature got to at least 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Unbelievable! I went biking with a group of friends from church and then headed over to the 'cottage' of one of the couples. The fall colors are starting!
